Description
Trier is located in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany. It's traditional Christmas Market, seen here, is situated against the enchanting backdrop of Trier Cathedral. The 95 little wooden huts on the Main Market Square offer typical Christmas goods, including wooden toys, candles, gift items and Christmas decorations. Sustenance is of course also provided - potato fritters, roasted almonds and mulled wine – which cannot be missing from any Christmas market. What makes the Christmas market in Trier unique, however, is the “Gluehweinkoenigin” (“Mulled Wine Queen”). Germany's one and only Mulled Wine Queen graces the Christmas market on each weekend of the market and is of course present at the official opening. The Christmas atmosphere can be felt throughout the whole pedestrian precinct, festively decorated streets and shop windows make your Christmas shopping trip into a very special experience. Happy Christmas!
